Two Jianyao 'Hare's Fur' Tea Bowls
Southern Song dynasty, 12th-13th century
Each with conical body rising to a finger-grooved rim, the black glaze of the larger bowl with silvery-brown 'hare's fur' markings below the brown slip of the thin rim, the smaller with russet 'hare's fur' markings below the matte, dark brown slip covering the rim, both with characteristic dark purplish-brown body exposed at the knife-cut foot
