Vedut di Roma: Sixty-two plates (H. 1-12, 14-63)

etchings, 1748-61, presumably a set as issued circa 1761, although lacking H. 13 in the sequence, from Hinds Edition B3(a), with Piranesi's address and price on those plates that usually have it, before the rebiting and added work (only three of the nineteen plates that are reworked apparently with that rework), fine impressions, the majority printed in brown-black ink and with the characteristic clarity of line in the more densely worked areas, watermark double-encircled Fleur-de-Lys (H. 3), with full margins, the usual central fold, minor foxing and staining at the sheet edges, generally in very good condition, stitched at the left, contemporary paper-covered boards, the front with a loss at the upper right corner, some short tears at the edges
overall S. 560 x 800 mm (62 in the album)
