A PAIR OF MEISSEN DARK-BLUE-GROUND OVIFORM VASES with flared necks, everted rims moulded with gadroons and vitruvian scrolls and with two coiled white double-serpent handles with acanthus-leaf terminals, the bodies moulded on the shoulders with a band of trellis-pattern and on the lower bodies with flutes, on flared and fluted feet, the moulded details reserved in white and enriched in gilding (one handle with chips and repair at neck of serpent, wear to gilding), blue crossed swords marks and double dots, painted numbers 29, incised A 148, circa 1880
