Hermitage blanc, 'Velours'--Vintage 1982
Vin de Marsanne, Passerilé sur pied
In special wooden case
An extremely rare wine, made only twice this century by the Chapoutier family, the only other vintage being 1944.
Like a straw wine but with grapes (100 Marsanne, not Viognier as might be expected) not dried on mats but, using the oldest method, dried on the vine.
Tasting note: striking buttercup yellow; a very distinctive, waxy, honeyed bouquet, reminiscent of a rich Tokay Aszu; medium sweet, full bodied (15.5 alcohol), soft, lovely grapy flavour, good length and aftertaste.(MB)
3 bottles per lot
