A contract drawing for a sepulchral monument intended for the choir of San Salvatore, Bologna. The agreement in Domenico's hand on the verso dated 1 Feb 1530 was witnessed by two notaries. It was drawn up between Domenico and Signor Filipo de Memoransi of Flanders, the sculptor agreed to follow the design on the recto. The monument was to measure six piedi bolognesi, and he was to receive 120 scudi for the work.
Domenico Rignano was probably 'il Domenico scolaro di Andrea Sansovino' mentioned by Vasari in his Vita of the latter. A drawing attributed to Rignano from Vasari's Libro is in the Uffizi, L. Ragghianti Collobi, Il Libro de'Disegni del Vasari, Florence, 1974, II, fig. 309. The attribution to Rignano on the recto is by a 16th Century hand
