An extremely fine early 19th century brass and wrought iron model of a twin oscillating cylinder condensing paddle engine. Measurements overall -- 11 x 17½in.(28 x 44.5cm)

With cylinders 2in. bore x 1½in. stroke with separate steam ways, two slide valves per cylinder, gab valve gear, inlet and exhaust pipework, regulator levers, linkage and butterfly valves (one link missing), overmounted split crankshaft supported in six main bearings on eight turned columns, wasted cranks, air pump and condensate tank. Further details include slip eccentrics and featherings paddles with wooden blades and eccentric sheave (for feed pump not fitted). Finished in green and polished brightwork and mounted as in the hull of a ship showing framing and planking. Oak stand (later) and glazed case (See colour plate)
