ANOTHER, the octagonal barrel swamped at the muzzle and rifled with twelve grooves, struck three times at the breech with barrelsmith's mark, a standing halberdier (Støckel 548), open back-sight with further folding peep-sight, flat lock with pierced and chiselled wheel-bracket, fruitwood full stock inlaid with crudely engraved staghorn roundels and panels, the cheek-piece and patch-box cover inlaid with a design of staghorn plaques engraved with acorns, engraved staghorn ramrod-pipes and fore-end cap, iron trigger-guard, set trigger, and horn-tipped ramrod, late 17th Century, possibly Baltic
