manuscript on paper, 341ff. plus two flyleaves, each with 12ll. neat black naskh, red punctuation, gold roundels between verses, later gold margins between black rules, red outer rule, textual divisions and positions of prostration marked in gold or occasionally in black in the margins, sura headings in gold thuluth, (slightly stained and smudged, a number of later marginal notes and titles erased), opening double page with full illumination in blue, crimson and gold, the sura titles in attenuated kufic on scrolling floral ground panels, colophon at end signed by Amatullah Fatimah bint 'Abd al-Qadir bint Qarimzan al-Halabia(?) and dated Rajab 903, later brown morocco binding with gold and tooled decoration in the Mamluk taste, stamped leather doublures
