manuscript on pale buff paper, 304ff. plus three flyleaves, incorrectly numbered by one to 607, each with 15ll. of neat black naskh, red punctuation, gold, green and red roundels between verses, larger similar marking the ruku', gold margin between black and red rules, sura headings in white thuluth in gold rectangles with polychrome floral decoration extending over the bismallah, polychrome floral medallions indicating juz' and sijda positions (very slight smudging), opening illuminated double folio, final folio illuminated with gold and polychrome borders and central floral motif, colophon signed by Al-Sayyid Mustafa Al-Dahni Al-Silsiravi, a student of Al-Sayyid Hafid Muhammad Thabit, dated 1274, dark maroon morocco binding decorated with two-colour light gold floral and radiating design (very minor damages), matching case, green paper doublures with similar decoration, associated slip-case similar (flap loose)
