comprising part of ch.10 to part of ch.14, a work dealing with the linear, surface and volume measurment of two and three dimensional forms, manuscript on pale brown paper, 45ff., each with 21ll. flowing brown naskh, important words and phrases in red, numerous diagrams throughout the text, occasional headings in Eastern kufic, (slight smudging, staining and water damage, incomplete)

The author was a physician of al-Muttaqi b. al-Muqtadri Billah, al-Mustakfi Billah and al-Muti' Billah, and served at a public hospital in Baghdad. He was a scientist, mathematician and historian whose works have been cited by Ibn Abi Usabi'ah (d.AH 668/1270 AD), and al-Qifti (d.AH 646/1248 AD) and Ibn al-Athri (d.AH 630/1233 AD).

This is part of a very early and lesser known work. The mathematics and geometry are based on Euclid, but furnish the basis of the applied mathematics of Islamic art and architecture.
