A terrestrial library globe, diameter 15 inches (39cm), overall height 24 inches (61cm). two sets of 18 engraved gores, two polar calottes, hand-coloured in outline, showing the western coastlines of Australia and New Zealand and part of Tasmania (gores stained and crudely repaired, one gore in the Northern Pacific lacking and restored, heavily revarnished, date on cartouche worn). Metal pinions, brass meridian circle, graduated on one face, numbered 4 (lacking hour circle and pointer), engraved horizon bar (touched and revarnished). The globe mounted on an ebonised and oak Dutch type stand, horizon supported by four fluted ebonised columns, stretchers carrying turned base plate with centrepost, black balled feet slightly restored, base marked IV. cf.
