A related lozenge-shaped cartouche design for a frame, illustrated P. Fuhring, Design into Art, London 1989, fig. 635, is attributed to Abraham Drentwett (d. 1727), a member of a celebrated Augsburg family of goldsmiths and author of three undated suites of silver designs of about 1700. A related pier-glass with scrolled cresting incorporating an engraved glass panel is illustrated H. Kreisel, Die Kunst des Deutschen Mobels, Munich, 1970, Vol. II, fig. 345. This is attributed to Philipp Jacob Drentwett
