ANOTHER PAIR, with rifled octagonal sighted barrels numbered 1 and 2 in silver and inscribed in silver 'Canon Acier Fondu', and retaining traces of their original blued finish, foliate scroll engraved tangs, locks and mounts, the last including spurred trigger-guards and baluster pommels, figured walnut half-stocks carved with foliage in relief on the fore-ends, and fluted butts: in original lined and fitted rosewood veneered case with full accessories (veneer damaged, some brass stringing missing from lid), the lid (loose) with brass escutcheon engraved with owner's initials, circa 1850
