A PAIR OF SAW-HANDLED FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOLS with rebrowned twist octagonal sighted barrels, case-hardened breeches with copper and gold-lined maker's stamp respectively, gold line and platinum vent, engraved case-hardened grooved tangs (breeches and tangs refinished), signed engraved case-hardened bolted locks with 'French' cocks and rollers, figured walnut full stocks, chequered butts, engraved steel mounts including blued spurred trigger-guards with urn finial, and butt-plates, the pommels encircled by an engraved silver band, original horn-tipped wooden ramrods, and some original finish: in earlier relined and refitted oak case with some accessories including three-way copper flask, By Hewson, London, London proof marks, circa 1815
