Lot Essay

Baholyodhin was born in Bangkok in 1966 to Asian and British parents. He was educated in England and studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture, and the London School of Economics. He also studied textile, furniture and industrial design in Italy, Paris and London.
The 'H.K.97' is derived from the Ming 'Wen Yi' writing chair, and seeks to combine British contemporary design with Chinese tradition.
