A NORTH EUROPEAN GILTWOOD STAND
Late 17th Century
The rectangular moulded frieze with lappeted and stiff-leaf band above the pierced apron with foliate scrolls, centred to each side by a maiden and a putto, the strapwork supports headed by a floral bouquet and a putto, on an Ionic capital and tapering legs joined by two foliate scrolling X-shaped stretchers with a circular platform, on gadrooned feet, the apron with restored breaks, previously the stand for a cabinet, regilt and with traces of silvering
