AN UNUSUAL PAIR OF GERMAN FLINTLOCK FOWLING-PIECES in the French taste, with sighted barrels, shaped tangs, plain rounded locks, figured walnut full stocks (one perhaps a working replacement, one fore-end chipped), the butts each with lightly carved cheek-piece and the carved crowned initials JS (for Josef Salm), shaped steel mounts including rounded side-plates, steel ramrod-pipes, and one original steel-tipped ramrod (one ramrod and all sling mounts missing), late 18th Century, probably by Pierre Greverath à Dyck
