A Vienna octagonal Kakiemon dish
Circa 1745, blue shield mark, painter's iron-red CC, incised 86 and i8
Painted with 'The Hob in the Well' pattern within a border of chrysanthemum and peony flowers alternating with foliate branches, beneath a brown-line rim (slight rubbing to the enamels of jar, foliage and one foot, slight staining to well at 10 o'clock)
7½in. (19cm.) diam.
