1953 SUNBEAM ALPINE CONVERTIBLE
Registration No. 865 CUB (Not currently registered)
Chassis No. A3013663
Left hand drive.
In 1953 production of a two-seater roadster joined the Sunbeam-Talbot sedan and drophead coupe and was designated the Alpine.
Designed primarily for export, the model had a role in the Grace Kelly and Cary Grant film "To Catch a Thief". Although the grille and bonnet styling differed little from its predecessors, the long, downswept tail gave the Alpine a rakish look.
This example was in storage in the USA from 1960 and was re-imported in 1991. Current mileage is stated as 58,000 and the vehicle is complete apart from having a spare tyre with no wheel. This charming sports tourer is finished in ivory with red interior and disc wheels. An optional floor gear change is installed.
