It is said that the design for the Austin Seven began on the billiard table at Herbert Austin's house with the assistance of Stanley Edge, then a junior draughtsman. True or not, this model along with the Austin Twelve was to transform the fortunes of the Austin Motor Company and bring car ownership within the means of thousands of first time buyers.

The Chummy is the most popular of the vintage models with its own distinct charm, being eligible for all manner of events or ideal for fun motoring.

This car has spent some of its life in the sunshine of California. It is in running order with rear brakes relined. Hood and side screens are included. It is expected to have a current MoT at the time of the auction.
