The Russian built Volga was built in Gorky in the Soviet Union and the M21 model was introduced in 1955. This 1959 model M21K is powered by an overhead valve four cylinder engine of 2,445cc with a 7.5:1 compression ratio producing 80bhp. The three speed gearbox has a column change. Suspension is by coil springs in the front and semi-ellyptic in the rear with 6.70 x 15 tyres.
This very rare to England 1959 Volga was purchased by its original owner from the Jersey Farmers Trading Union and has been driven to Russia on a number of occasions. It was acquired by the present vendor in 1978 since when it has been in storage. The car is very original and complete and a little restoration will return this car to its former glory. The four door five seater saloon has a top speed of 84mph and will provide practical transport as well as considerable interest at classic car events.
