Chassis No. C883758
Engine No. C883758
Right hand drive

Just prior to the first world war and during the twenties, the great Detroit Ford concern began to diversify its activities. Sites and plants were set up in various parts of the world including Germany, France and Britain where the operation was based at Trafford Park Manchester. In 1932 the British operation was transferred to Dagenham, Essex where it has remained and expanded ever since. The mainstay of British models just prior to the first world war was the four cylinder Y-Series 8 and 10hp models. In the post war period updated versions of the 10hp appeared such as the Anglia and Prefect and in 1953 the Ford Popular was introduced with the same specification as the Anglia.

This example is finished in blue coachwork with red upholstery. Whilst in need of some restoration work it is in running condition and has occasional use at the weekends. Attention will be required to the headlining and the roof area where dampness has occured. The owner is intending to have a new MoT by the time of the sale and it has both old and new style log books.
