The name Lincoln is synonymous with Presidential cars for the White House in Washington and since the take over by Henry Ford in 1922 has been the prestige division of the Ford Motor Company. The V12 engined Lincoln Zephyr of the mid 1930s and the V12 Continentals from 1940 to 1948 were high performance luxury cars. The Continental was revived in 1956, but no longer used the V12 engine reverting to a 6-litre 285bhp V8 and further evolutionary changes such as quad headlamps and unitary construction introduced in 1958 rationalised the Lincoln range to just the Continental model from 1961. The Mark III was introduced in the late 1960s with increased engine capacity to 7,571 cc developing 340bhp.

As with all Lincoln Continentals, it is the supurb build quality and internal fittings that made them exclusive as well as the sheer brute force power. Disc brakes on the front wheels and automatic four speed gearbox is standard.

This two owner car was originally owned by the New York office of the Mirror Group and since 1980 has been in the UK with only occasional use. It is in very good original condition and provides a rare opportunity to acquire one of the famous Lincoln super cars.
