manuscript on polished buff paper, 311ff. plus three flyleaves, each with 15ll. of fine black naskh, punctuation in red, gold roundels between verses, gold margins between black rules, red outer rule, gold and polychrome marginal floral sprays and medallions to mark the sections, sura headings in white within gold and polychrome illuminated panels, (negligible smudging, two quires loose from binding), opening and final bi-folios very finely illuminated predominately in gold and blue, colophon signed by al-Sayyed Hasan al-Ashiqi a student of Hafiz al-Qur'an Uthman al-Shauqi and dated 1270, brown morocco binding with two-colour gold lattice and border, green paper doublures, similar slip case with floral designs, plain brown leather outer case
