manuscript on polished buff paper, 311ff. plus three flyleaves, each with 15ll. of neat black naskh, punctuation in red, gold roundels frequently with green and white foliate decoration between verses, two-colour gold margins between black rules, blue outer rule, gold and polychrome floral marginal medallions to mark the sections, sura headings in white on gold cartouches within gold, green, red and white illuminated panels, (very occasional smudging, trimmed), opening double folio with full gold and polychrome illumination, final folio similarly illuminated and containing colophon signed by al-Hafiz Ahmad al-Rida'i a pupil of al-Hafiz Hasan al-Hasani and dated 1280 in both words and figures, dark maroon morocco and gold painted binding (remounted), paper doublures
