manuscript on polished buff paper, 300ff. plus three flyleaves, each with 15ll. of neat black naskh, punctuation in red, gold roundels between verses, gold margins within black rules, red outer rule, gold and polychrome floral medallions marking the juz', other section markings written marginally in red, sura headings in white within gold and polychrome illuminated panels, (very minor wear), opening double folio with full page gold and polychrome floral illumination (slight damage to edges), final folio with illuminated colophon signed by Isma'il al-Zuhdi Zadeh son of al-Sayyid Khalil Safi a student of Yahya Lutfi, the mufti of Aslamia (slight smudging), original brown morocco binding with two-colour gold decoration (some scuffing), marbled paper doublures
