INDENT3793 Squadron Quarter Master Sergeant Leonard Edward Finch, born St. John's, Kent 1874, enlisted in the 9th Lancers 1895; after his service in the South African War 1899-1902, he accompanied the Regiment to India; he was severely wounded at Longueval, France, 29 September 1914, and died of his wounds 17 October at the Military Hospital, Colchester.
