Captain Henry Akroyd Ridgway, son of E.A. Ridgway, Earthernware Manufacturer of Stone, Staffordshire, is shown as Captain 5th Battalion, 1912; he was killed in action leading D Company of his Battalion in the attack on the Hohenzollern Redoubt, 13 October, 1915. The 5th Battalion was mainly officered by sons of Staffordshire Potteries families
