INDENTSecond Lieutenant John William Forrest, born 1893, St Catherine's Canada, only son of Sir William Charles Forrest, educated at Marlborough and Trinity College Cambridge, volunteered for active service on the outbreak of the Great War and was commissioned in the 7th Seaforth Highlanders 7 September 1914. He went to France 10 May 1915 and was killed during the attack on the Hohenzollern Redoubt in the Battle of Loos, 27 September. Lieutenant Forrest is commemorated on the Loos Memorial (Ruvigny's Roll of Honour refers)
