A HANDACHI KATANA, the blade honzukuri, iorimune, chugissaki and torii-zori with fine ko-itame hada mixed with a little mokume and many chikei, medium suguba hamon of ko-nie, komaru boshi and ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana, signed Omi no Kami Hojoji Tachibana Masahiro (of Musashi), circa 1673, 69.3cm. long; in black ishimeji-nuri saya with roironuri scrolling tendril design, silver handachi fittings engraved with karakusa, shakudo and gilt menuki of Hotei pulled along by karako, and a circular iron Owari sukashi tsuba of the Momoyama period (1568-1600)
