AN ARMOUR-PIERCING TANTO, the thick hirazukuri blade becoming mohora in the upper half, with itame-masame hada and suguba hamon of nioi, ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana, unsigned, late 19th century, 18.3cm. long; in kuroronuri-kizamisaya with iron fittings decorated with nunome-zogan pine-trees or scrollng tendrils, with russet-iron kogatana and ring for sageo attachment, and iron hamidashi tsuba; and an unusual wood-mounted tanto, the blade hirazukuri, iorimune and shallow torii-zori with fine mokume hada and midare hamon of nioi, pointed boshi and ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana, unsigned, 19th century, 24.5cm. long, in boxwood koshikizami scabbard with carved ebony kurikata and gourd, mask kojiri, inlaid wood kozuka depicting a flute and wood menuki carved as reed mouth organs, ebony tsuba carved with a rain-dragon, (fuchi damaged), inscribed Minko on an inlaid wood panel (2)
