A WAKIZASHI, the blade honzukuri, iorimune, chugissaki and shallow torii-zori with itame-mokume hada and wild midare hamon, midare komi boshi and ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana inscribed Bizen Kuni ju Osafune Yosazaemonjo Sukesada kore o tsukuru and with a date Eisho 12 (1515), but later, 32.8cm. long; in dark brown lacquer saya with iron kojiri decorated with a gilt passion flower, and soft-metal tsuba and fuchi-kashira depicting Chokaro, Bukan Zenshi and Kanzan and Jittoku; and an o-wakizashi, the blade honzukuri, mitsumune in the lower threequarters, extended chugissaki and shallow torii-zori, details obscured but hamon and boshi visible, suriage nagako, unsigned, probably 15th/16th century, 45.8cm. long; with gold brocade-covered scabbard, associated shakudo fuchi-kashira and lacquered iron tsuba (both lacking kozuka) (2)
