A DAISHO, the blades honzukuri, iorimune, chugissaki and torii-zori, the forging detail obscured by shallow scratching, the dai with choji-midare and umanoha hamon of nioi, the sho with wide komidare hamon of nioi, midare-komi boshi and kiri-jiri nakago, unsigned, mid 19th century, 69.4cm. and 44.4cm. long; with red skateskin samegawa-nuri scabbards, the sho with a shakudo-nanakoji gilt-rimmed kozuka depicting a crane in flight, the shakudo and gilt menuki also formed as cranes, the shakudo-nanakoji fuchi-kashira with cranes in iroe takazogan, the shakudo-nanakoji tsuba depicting dragonflies near passion-flowers growing on a garden fence, each inscribed Goto Kanjo, mid 19th century (2)
