A WAKIZASHI BY BIZEN SUYEYUKI, the blade honzukuri, iorimune, extended chugissaki and koshizori, with mokume hada slightly tsukare but showing many chikei, choji-midore hamon of ko-nie, some in sunagashi form, hakkakeru boshi and ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana (small kiku on ura), signed on omote: Bishu Osafune ju Suyeyuki, late 15th Century, in shirasaya; the koshirae in dark brown ishimeji-nuri saya with spotted mijingai-nuri design, with gilt Mino-Goto kurikata depicting quail and millet, gilt kozuka and fuchi-kashira with blossoming plum branches in takazogan, gilt menuki formed as peonies and a gilt metal tsuba depicting nami-ni-chidori, signed Masanori, 19th Century, fitted with tsunagi
