This drawing is from the smaller Fonthill sketchbook of 1799 TBXLVIII, and is very similar in subject and style to the drawing in the Turner Bequest on page 3.

Turner spent three weeks at Fonthill in 1799 with Henry Tresham, Benjamin West and William Hamilton. William Beckford (1760-1844) first commissioned James Wyatt to build Fonthill Abbey in 1793
