A BOEOTIAN TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF A GIRL HOLDING A TAMBOURINE, standing on a stepped oval base, with weight on her left leg, wearing a pleated high-girdled chiton with long overfold and a cloak which has fallen off her shoulders and is draped in the crook of her arms, in her right hand she holds a tambourine, her wavy hair is caught up in a small chignon on top; and another terracotta figure of a girl, stepping forward with her right foot advanced, looking down towards her left, draped in a chiton and himation, her arms bent and caught beneath the folds, wearing earrings and a 'melon' coiffure with chignon at the nape of her neck, traces of red hair colouring, on integral rectangular base, rectangular vent, both 3rd Century B.C., 5 1/8 (13cm.) and 5½in.
