Lot Essay

Tsuba Kanshoki states that the design is from the Seto yaki National treasure by Toshiro who learnt porcelain production in China. When he came back from China in 1229, he built a kiln in Owari.

The angle of the ryohitsu indicates that this tsuba was made to mount on an early koshirae.
