Tsunenao is from Takatsuki in Settsu province. He was a student of
Ichinomiya Nagatsune and his work is similar to that of his master. It is believed that he was responsible for some vicarious work of
Nagatsune.

Sagicho was a ceremony held on 15 January in which they burnt obsolete documents with fans, tanzaku [strips of poem paper] and books. The tradition was to sing and walk around the burning documents. In some
regions, it was called donto yaki when they burned kadomatasu
[New Year's pine decorations], shime kazari and kakizome [the
first calligraphy of the year].
