The copper migaki-ji plate decorated with old pine in usunikubori, details in gold zogan and shippo with gold wire, the reverse in oborogin depicting bamboo in katakiribori, signed Chikuzanken Motoshige saku; Araki Tomei school, the shibuichi migaki-ji plate decorated with a cuckoo in flight with clouds and the moon in usunikubori, gold suemon zogan and kin iroe, the reverse with a poem, signed Togintei Yoshiteru and kao, with a wood box; Ichijo school carved with a design of a plum tree in kosukibori, kebori, gold and silver hirazogan, signed Shorosai; and Nomura school, the ishime-ji copper base metal depicting aquatic plants and a butterfly in takabori and iroe, signed Nomura Masanao and kao, with a wood box (4)

Lot Essay

The artist Yoshiteru was a student of Araki Tomei, Goto Mitsubumi and
Sato Toho. In 1852, he became independent and took the name Sato.

Masanao was a student of the 6th generation Nomura Masamitsu.
