SIGNED TOSHIMASA AND KAO, LATE EDO PERIOD (19TH CENTURY)

Toshimasa, a student of Tanaka Seiju came from Satsuma. The use of differing techniques and metals are characteristic of the Tanaka school, but this strong dramatic portrayal of Nio is quite out of character. This may be due to some Satsuma influence.
