A NAGINATA NAOSHI BLADE IN A RIBBED SAYA

The shobu zukuri blade forged with itame, tempered edge suguha, kaeri-boshi, tang ubu, 14¾in. (37.4cm.); with a black lacquer ribbed saya with aikuchi fittings, shakudo soritsune carved with waves, shibuichi koiguchi and fuchi-kashira decorated with flower baskets and birds, a pair of copper and shakudo menuki of monkeys, iron kozuka decorated with pine and crayfish in sukidashi bori and gilt, signed Chiryusai Yoshitaka and kao; and a katana with a black lacquer saya, the blade honzukuri, iorimune, o-gissaki, a carving of a dragon's head to the monouchi area, its tail to the other end, forging pattern tight itame, tempered edge suguha, maru-boshi, tang o-suriage with four holes, mumei, 17th century, 27¾in. (70.6cm.); with a black ishime-ji lacquer saya decorated with mon of hanabishi in hexagonal reserves, kojiri of brass, with cotton bound tsuka with metal nanako fuchi-kashira of carp decorated in gilt, menuki of peony, cast tsuba depicting warriors (2)
