A MAJOLICA OVAL BREAD-PLATE, the surface naturalistically moulded with a large begonia-leaf glazed in shades of brown, yellow and green and with a pink and turquoise border within an everted brown-glazed rim inscribed in relief with Eat thy bread with thankfulness in gothic letters and moulded with two yellow scroll thumbpieces, 12¾in. (32.5cm.) wide; a similar oval plate, impressed 12, 11½in. (29.5cm.) wide; and a similar leaf-shaped dish, possibly Griffen, Smith & Hill, 11in. (28cm.) wide, circa 1880 (3)
