A JOSEPH HOLDCROFT CIRCULAR BOWL, the dark-blue exterior moulded with twigs of yellow-centred white blossoms pendent from a branch encircling the rim, a band of yellow rope-twist below, the interior glazed in turquoise within a brown rim moulded with a band of ruyi lappetes, on a flared foot moulded with bands of brown ruyi lappets and yellow rope-twist within a brown line rim (star-crack to base and associated glaze chips), impressed monogram within a circle, circa 1870 15¼in (38.5cm.) diam.
