A FRENCH SMALL-SWORD with associated slender blade of flattened-hexagonal section, the forte etched and gilt with scrollwork and trophies of flags, and with central fuller on each face stamped 'Antonio Hispanien 1680' rectangular ricasso etched and gilt with trophies, the steel hilt chiselled in low relief with trophies of arms (rubbed) framed in rococo scrolls against a gilt granular ground, and wooden grip bound with twisted and plain steel wire, circa 1750; another, composite, the blade (pitted) with pierced central fuller at the forte, the hilt with silver shell cast and pierced with scrollwork framing two Classical female figures, the remainder steel, and later pommel and wooden grip, 18th Century; and another, of transitional form, with tapering blade, pierced steel shell, scrolled quillons chiselled with foliage and a trellis pattern, pommel en suite, and wire-bound wooden grip, 17th/18th Century
