Adam Kuchenreuter In Regensburg' in silver on the top flat, silver lines and struck with silver-lined maker's stamp (Neue Støckel 624) at the breech, case-hardened foliate engraved tang, signed case-hardened foliate engraved bolted back-action lock (defective), figured walnut half-stock (chipped around the lock), the butt with raised cheek-piece, chequered grip, foliate engraved blued steel mounts including butt-plate and spurred trigger-guard, vacant white-metal escutcheon, sling swivel, set trigger, horn fore-end cap, and much original finish (the metal parts with slight surface rust overall, ramrod missing), by Beckwith, London, mid-19th Century
