NEEDHAM'S PATENT BREECH-LOADING NEEDLE-FIRE SHOTGUN with etched twist sighted barrels signed on the rib, the breeches with case-hardened patent pivoting blocks with gold-lined stamps marked 'Needhams Patent' and numbered 103 and 104 respectively, blued safety levers, and signed case-hardened cylindrical heads engraved with scrolling foliage, case-hardened breech-tang engraved en suite, figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip and fore-end (horn fore-end cap missing), foliate scroll engraved steel mounts including trigger-guard and butt-plate each engraved with pointers, vacant shield-shaped silver escutcheon, no provision for ramrod, and traces of original finish: in original lined and fitted oak case with trade label and some accessories including canvas gun cover, and retaining two original paper cartridges, by Wm. & Jno.
