The case of typical form with foliate pierced and engraved gallery frets with urn finials supporting the bell straps, the alarm pulley assembly mounted to the iron back plate with spurs and hoop, wings to the doors decorated with foliate pierced and engraved fretwork, the dial signed J:Windmills, London within the tulip engraved centre with central calibrated alarm disc, brass Roman chapter ring, later Dutch-style hand, the movement with verge escapement and centre-swinging arrowhead pendulum, count wheel strike and alarm on bell above.
