Half-titles, engraved vignettes on titles, 146 tinted aquatint or engraved plates of which 9 are finely hand-coloured and 2 double-page, 19 engraved maps and plans, of which 13 are double-page, one of them with overslip, and 6 full-page, 27 vignettes in the text, 2 double-page lithographic tables. (Some occasional browning and spotting.) Contemporary light brown calf, tooled in gilt and blind (upper cover of volume III detached, upper joints of volume I and II split, spines chipped). Provenance: Sir William G H Jolliffe (bookplate).
The third volume of this finely illustrated work, sometimes wanting, bears the title "Précis historique de la guerre entre la France et L'Autriche en 1809". This was later reissued in 1823 in octavo plus atlas. Brunet III 713; not in Abbey.
