A VIENNA-STYLE DARK-BLUE-GROUND CLOCK formed as four slender cylindrical columns with gilt-metal collars and reserved with playful cherubs among clouds and flowers, the movement suspended from a square shelf surmounted by a burnished and seeded gilt dome reserved with a frieze of classical figures painted in colours, with a knop finial surrounded by four similar gilt knops, on a square plinth painted on the sides with mythological figures within gilt demi-lune shaped cartouches and with a similar circular cartouche on the top (wear to gilding), blue beehive mark, circa 1890
