A PAIR OF SÈVRES-PATTERN BALUSTER VASES AND DOMED COVERS modelled with scroll handles with white masks, the dark-blue grounds painted with groups of figures wearing 18th Century dress in idyllic gardens, one group admiring a baby on a woman's lap, the other observing a sleeping baby, within a ciselé gilt band outlined with foliate scrolls, the reverses with wooded lakescapes within similar outlines, between horizontal bands of green gadroons and acanthus, the flared necks moulded with white flutes enclosing husks and enriched with gilt caillouté, on short knopped stems and green and blue circular gadrooned feet (both finials restored, chip to one handle), imitation blue interlaced L and dot marks, one cover impressed C4 10L, circa 1880
